From ECOPORT 8 to TEN ECOPORT

The implementation of ECOPORT 8 resulted in a Context Analysis report which described in an explicit way the lack of specific rules concerning the environmental quality of the 8 ports involved in ECOPORT 8, presenting the european and national laws, the environmental indexes to be surveyed, as well as SWOT analyses of the ports that actually participated in the project.

TEN ECOPORT aims to capitalize the gained experience and take it a step further by updating the already collected under ECOPORT 8 material and also to examine closely the new ports involved in TEN ECOPORT. This will result in an updated context analysis which will be used in all TEN ECOPORT Platform activities, including the Benchmarking Seminar that will be organized using the European Awareness Scenario Workshop (EASW) Methodology, in order to define the possible internal or external constraints that obstacle the achievement of the sustainability of the results.

More specifically, the Benchmarking seminar will focus on the analysis, through a closed-chain approach, of the linkage between sustainable processes implemented during the ECOPORT 8 and the results foreseen. This Benchmarking Seminar will offer the opportunity to define the possible internal or external constraints that impede the achievement of the sustainability of the results.

Abstract: The port Bourgas is a key-point on transboarder Corridor 8, ensures direct access to the Black Sea of Southern Italy ports. For these reasons the Bourgas port is chosen as the pilot site. In this connection the current water quality status of the Bourgas bay and the Bourgas port, respectively according to the available information is evaluated. The sampling station and the parameters that are determined are given. The generalized data are tabulated and illustrated graphically where the variation of water quality parameter could be seen. Finally some conclusions are given. They could be used during the next stages of the project at establishment of a port environmental monitoring system.

Резюме: Пристанище Бургас има ключова позиция в трансграничния Коридор 8, осигуряващ директен достъп до Черно море на южните пристанища на Италия. Поради тази причина пристанище Бургас е избрано, като място за пилотни изследвания. В тази връзка е извършена оценка на сегашното състояние на качеството на водата в Бургаския залив и съответно в района на пристанище Бургас, според наличната информация. Дадени са параметрите, които са определяни и местата, в които са вземани пробите. Обобщените данни са дадени в таблица и са илюстрирани графично, където може да се види изменението на параметрите на качеството на водата. Накрая са дадени някои заключения. Те могат да бъдат използвани през следващите етапи на проекта за разработване на система за мониторинг на околната среда в пристанището.
